Run Windows update using Firefox
Microsoft make user can’t update Windows using a browser other than Internet Explorer. As you know how the reputation of Internet Explorer, no better than Mozilla Firefox (I no longer use Windows). The Windows Update site, and the newer Microsoft Update site, are designed to work only with Internet Explorer. The update sites depend on an ActiveX control which scans your computer to determine which updates are missing. Firefox does not run ActiveX controls. First, when I was still using windows, I use a little trick that I get from reading the various sources in order to run windows update using Firefox. This some way can you use to run the Windows update with Firefox and without Firefox.
Windows update without use Firefox
1. Using automatic updates
This is an innate feature windows. You surely must have known. The automatic update allow you to locate, download, and install Windows updates without having to browse to Microsoft’s website. Read here to find out how to enable automatic updates.
2.Updating manually
Even with automatic updates enabled, you might want to visit Microsoft Update online from time to time for optional updates (for example, new versions of Windows Media Player). There are three ways to access the update site.
3. Using Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer 6 and 7 have an option to visit the update site using Tools > Windows Update. Alternately, you can type update.microsoft.com in the address bar and press Enter. (As with any download, it is a good practice to confirm that you are at the genuine Microsoft site before allowing any software to be installed.)
Windows update use Firefox
1. Use WindowsUpdate 1.1.12 plugin | download
Adds “Windows Update” item to the Firefox Tools menu, and launches Internet Explorer to the Windows Update site when clicked.
