How to install Wine in Ubuntu
Do you Ubuntu user? However, you are more familiar with windows programs. You still can use any Windows program on Ubuntu by installing Wine. By use wine, any Windows software can you use in your Ubuntu Operating System.
Wine is a compatibility layer for running Windows applications on Linux. Applications are run at full speed without the need of cpu emulation. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, however it can use native system dll files in place of its own if they are available.
There are two easy way to install wine on your computer.
1. Use Synaptic
This is the easiest way to installing wine.
Go to Synaptic package manager.
System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager
Enter your password. After Synaptic Package Manager window opened, typed wine on quick search. Mark for installation. Usually it need another program installed to install it. Just allow it. Now click apply (you must connect to internet to install wine). Wait a moment and finished.
2. Download .deb package
Click here to download wine on debian package. Why I recommend download debian file package format? It no need knowledge to install application on Ubuntu. Just double click on file downloaded and install it on your computer. It like as installing software on Windows.
Now you have installed Wine in your Ubuntu.
What next? How to use wine to install Windows program?
To install a Windows program, I usually use this way. Opened the file browser. Go to folder where the file you want to install there. Right click on .exe file and select open with “Wine Windows Program Loader”. Just install the software as you install it on windows.
