Turn Off autoplay, prevent the infected of viruses on computer

This tips only working for offline computer that is not connected to the internet to prevent viruses infected from USB storage.

keep-virusMany of viruses maker use USB storage be they media to spread their viruses. The viruses will be automatically running in your system when the USB storage connected to your computer. Turn off autoplay is one way to prevent the viruses infected your computer. With turn off the autoplay, any viruses in the USB storage can’t to open the file automatically. This is will be usefully to prevent your computer infected by viruses. To turn off the autoplay, you only need to open the Group policy and change the setting. The way is,

  • open run, window and R
  • type gpedit.msc
  • Computer Configuration -> Adminstrative Templates -> System. See on the right place, double click to turn off autoplay.  Enabled it and select to all drives on turn off autoplay on.
  • Do the same to User Configuration -> Adminstrative Templates -> System. On the right place, double click to turn off autoplay.
